Our Logo: The Beaver

Leather isn't just cowhide, it refers to any animal pelt. Deer skin, goat skin, and beaver pelt are all forms of leather.

Like the cowboy and the cattle drive is to the western plains. Our logo: the Beaver, is a central figure of the fur trade that existed in America for centuries before market hunting all but wiped them out. The territory Northwest of the Ohio River was abundant with these critters and both traders and trappers flocked to the Northwest territory in search for them. As history progressed and  America expanded west and the beaver population reduced in the Northwest Territory and the fur trade moved to the Rocky Mountains.

We use the beaver as a symbol to connect us to the hunters, trappers and traders of long ago that explored the territory with nothing but a flintlock, some goods to trade, and a whole lot of grit.
